Air India Cancels Bhubaneswar-Delhi Flight Due to Ground-Level Technical Glitch
Air India passengers scheduled to travel from Bhubaneswar to Delhi on flight AI500 faced sudden trouble on Sunday when their flight was called off due to a technical problem. The airline reported that an unusual rise in cabin temperature while the plane was still on the ground caused the cancellation.
In an official message, an Air India representative explained, "Flight AI500 planned to operate from Bhubaneswar to Delhi on 3 August was cancelled due to a technical problem that led to high cabin temperatures before takeoff. Our airport staff in Bhubaneswar is currently helping affected travellers with other arrangements to reach Delhi. We apologise for the inconvenience."
The fault was found while the aircraft was still parked on the runway, and as a result, the flight could not take off as expected. A similar event occurred just a few days earlier, on July 31, when passengers on flight AI2017 from Delhi to London experienced delays. That flight also had to return to the gate after a possible technical issue stopped the takeoff.
According to a statement from Air India, the flight crew made the decision to stop the aircraft’s movement during the takeoff roll. The decision was made in line with standard safety procedures.
Air India confirmed that flight AI2017 from Delhi to London on 31 July was brought back to the parking area after the crew noticed a possible issue. "The pilots followed the standard procedure and stopped takeoff, bringing the plane back for safety checks," the airline said in its official statement.
An alternate aircraft was arranged quickly to take the passengers to their destination. The airline assured that all necessary support was being provided to the affected travellers while they waited for their journey to continue. Ground staff at the airport were involved in helping passengers with care and information to reduce the inconvenience.
Air India underlined that safety remains the main concern for the airline. “The well-being and safety of our guests will always be our highest priority,” said the spokesperson. The airline is taking all steps to ensure that passengers reach their destinations safely and with as little delay as possible.
